Happy Summer + What's New?

I can't believe the kick off to summer is here! We're heading out on our first family outing on Monday. We've done a few short trips close to home but now we're heading to a friend's Annual Memorial Day BBQ. They haven't met the babies and I know they'll be excited to see their cuteness. They've grown so incredibly much. Steven put them on our packaging scale and they now weigh about 10 pounds! Now granted, that was fully clothed but they're getting so big! I took a bunch of pictures yesterday so I'll post them next week.

I've also been trying to catch up on thank you notes and find myself keeping things VERY basic these days. As I made a few I loved how much easier it was having coordinating papers and cards all together. I thought a few of you might too. Soooo.. we put together a bunch of Basic Cardmaking Kits. And when we say basic, it's basic. Just pretty papers and nicely coordinating cards and envelopes perfect for the person who has lots of embellishments at home (and we know there's lots of you out there) :) or the person who just wants to add a photo, as I did here and you're good to go! I love the Memory Box cards and envelopes because firstly, the colors are gorgeous! And because the envelope flaps are half moon shaped for a really nice touch. Check out the Homespun Kit (seen below), the Lullaby Kit (which I used for my baby notes) and we have two others - Sprout Kit and the very preppy Sugar on Top Kit. Too much fun! Oh, did we mention they're only $5 bucks?!

Happy Summer my friends!!

mad about mosaics!

I love that our products are so versatile! Mosaics are something I've always wanted to try and been fascinated with. Check out what our friend at Coco Plum Mosaics created. I just *love* her work. She'll take one of your favorite photos and create mosaic artwork with it. So personal. You can visit her Etsy shop HERE. Her details are just wonderful.

Rebecca Sower + Postmark LA

So here it is - 2:00 in the morning - my new hours for getting things done! I was actually able to quickly check in on a few blogs. Well I didn't get far because when I visited Rebecca Sower's I noticed she has a new book out! HELLO!! I know - I'm probably the last person to hear about this. It's a collaborative book with some fabulous ladies - like, Theresa McFayden (Miss Foof herself), Carolyn Peeler, Pam Garrison and my friend Charlotte Lyons, among others. Well, it took all of about 2 seconds for me to order! Anything by these ladies is sure to be amazing. Be sure to visit each of their blogs because they're having giveaways all week. I only linked Rebecca's blog but she has all the other ladies linked.
And did you know Rebecca ordered one of our Juicy Monograms?? I find her so inspiring. Oh, to have an ounce of that creativity!

Welcome LynLivy's

We really enjoy "meeting" the shop owners who are carrying our products. It's so fun to see the creative spaces of the stores! The latest is LynLivy's Art House in San Antonio, TX. They just opened two weeks ago and they've just placed a re-order of our products! We love that. :) Being a new mom of twins, I totally love the concept of this store.. not only do they carry some great products, but it looks like SO much fun.. what kid wouldn't love to play dress up, have creative classes and be able to write on the walls!

LynLivy’s Story and vision

After being home with my 2 daughters for 7 years, I finally decided it was time to get back to work. But with a young family to care for, I wanted something that would allow me to be close to them and still make a difference thru our beliefs and vision. With many years of retail management experience, a huge desire to create, an artsy childhood, lots of crafty friends, 16 glittery girl scouts, and 2 very silly clever crafty kids - an ArtHouse seemed the only logical solution!

Children are an endless source of creativity and inspiration and every community needs an ArtHouse to showcase it. I hope you find LynLivy’s to be that place and hope your kids will continue to create with us for years to come!
Thanks for supporting us!Feel free to drop us a line anytime - we love to hear from you!
Sincerely,

Stacey Fuller, owner, and mom to Lyndsey (Lyn) & Olivia (Livy)

LynLivy’s Improv stage is always open for the kids to come play, sing, dance, dress-up, pretend, act and just be silly! And the craft table is always out for the kids to come get crafty with us while in the store!

They have everything from Crafty Fridays to Birthday Parties to Summer Craft Camp! So very cool! If you're in the San Antonio area, please go visit! They're located in the Artisan's Alley. Oh, and they also have a blog. Thanks Stacey and the LynLivy's crew. We look forward to working with you!

on Being Home...

Our friends Kari and Kijsa ordered our house trio a few months back. Read along for their art story (taken from their inspiring blog) and enjoy their creativity...

Being Home…Two meet…the beginning of something special with just a stolen glance, a slight smile. A young girl and boy hold hands, dreaming of what is , and what is to be…An “I do,” a threshold crossed...home has begun. Passing in the narrow hallway, the rooms so cozy in the first home shared…just the two of them.

A cry breaks..It’s a girl!…The tiny house has grown to three…now four…laughter fills the halls…tripping over tiny obstacles with roly-poly wheels…days and nights filled with bustle in the now larger hallways...

Growing pains are felt by both…beautiful children slowly slipping from our grasp as they chip away at youth, a path created just for them...

Two seems not so full now, as the leaves of life begin to fall. Laughter still comes, as quiet smiles tell stories that need not be spoken. A home well shared, memories crammed to overflowing in each crevice. The hallways are smaller yet again…roly-poly toys of youth have been unpacked…just outside tiny hands reach to knock, knowing inside love waits for them…

When we begin to decorate an interior...we know the personal touches and memories of the family not only should be included, but are necessary to transform a house into a home...the same was done with each board...

House One: SIWL wooden house, wood board, acrylic and oil glazes. Old house number from our home, vintage buttons (all buttons discovered at a tag sale on Cape Cod).

House Two: SIWL wooden house, wood board, Found frame, paper, acrylic and oil glazes, four vintage buttons represent our family- the true definition of our home.

House Three: SIWL wooden house, wood board, acrylic and oil glazes, paper from vintage children’s book, “Where does everyone Go?” by Ailene Fisher, 1961, drawer knocker from old cabinet.
