My Creative Classroom

We are *so* excited to introduce this online class to you (featuring our fabulous letters!) :) Have you ever visited the 'My Creative Classroom' website? I found it a few months ago when a friend told me about it. I thought the concept was cool and considered offering a class myself (until I realized I just don't have the time!) :)

Well, a few weeks ago the talented and super cool Colleen Schaan contacted me about using our products for her introductory class! We are very excited to get involved! She's got a wonderful online class called 'A PEACE of Holiday Art'. Love the clever title! For more information and all the details, visit Colleen's classroom, A Touch of Distinction right HERE. And to learn a bit more about Colleen, visit her blog too.

inspiration station...

These designs were done by our friend Kim. Aren't they fabulous??

The strawberry is so sweet with her pup's picture! And the bling.. who doesn't love bling?!

And the bird shape has always been one of my favorites! I love the ribbon and velvet leaves around it's neck and the pretty, pretty paper she used. We love seeing what you're creating with our products. Keep 'em coming! :) Have a fabulous weekend everyone. Happy Altering!

Amy Butler

I'm a *huge* Amy Butler fan! I first fell in love with her beautiful fabrics and then was so excited to see she had an equally beautiful paper line by K and Company. I can't seem to get enough paper!! Anyway, I just received her newsletter and she's got some fun paper crafting projects on her website. Aren't these Paper Iris' pretty? She's also got some fabric projects too if you sew. You can find the paper crafting projects HERE. Her sewing projects HERE (and some seem no sew to me.) Or substitute with paper.. like her fabric leaves you could easily use paper instead. And sign up for her mailing list HERE. Happy Creating!

I'm sure you've all heard of this event by donna downey. inspired. If you're on her mailing list by now you've probably received several e-mails introducing the artists who'll be teaching. I love that she's including lots of classes outside your typical "scrapbooking" classes. I've always had lots of interests.. sewing and a fascination (and very much beginner) jewelry maker. I just think it sounds like one inspiring event! I even spoke with her a while back to see about sponsoring the event because I was SO excited about it. It unfortunately won't fit into our schedule (will tell you more about that soon.) :) But MAN would I love to be there!! They're even offering payment plans, which I just think is wonderful. She's so down to earth herself that she just wants people to come and have a good time. Love that! Oh and check out some of the artists who'll be teaching.

Claudine Hellmuth

Jennifer Stewart

Tena Sprenger

Steph McAtee

Very cool! Check out the site to get more info. Oh, and if you go.. you MUST report back to us about it! :)

OK.. so I seriously thought this week couldn't get much better. As my Dad would say - it's an AWESOME week. I've been meeting so many amazing and nice people through our design team call. I was just in the process of visiting a few of your blogs when I happen upon one of my favorite blogs - Miss Rebecca Sower. She can do no wrong in my eyes. Love her designs, love her products, love her style. Did you happen to see her blog post today? WE are one of her 'lovely discoveries'. Yippppeee!! She ordered one of our monograms a while back (and yes - I screamed when I realized it was her!) :) And today she posted about us. How cool is that?? Pinch me please. Life is swell!

acorn love

I do have to say the acorn is probably my favorite new Fall shape. And my friend Joyce was kind enough to send me her creation! I just love it! Here's what she used and how she did it!

The printed paper is Melissa Frances, their new Fall line (as is the sticker.) The acorn top is Bazzill cardstock that has been embossed with the Quickutz Revolution diamond die and then lightly highlighted with Brilliance Cosmic Copper ink. She says in person it shows up very nicely. Some grosgrain ribbon under the cap and a little piece of coarse twine tied to the stem. She used dimensional tape under the sticker (which is mounted on thin chipboard) to make it stand out. I love the dimensional tape too. Totally love it Joyce. Beautiful job! And that's a little Friday inspiration for ya!

Unfinished acorn shapes can be found HERE

Thank you so much for all the inquiries and submissions for our Design Team. We are so excited with the amazing talent (and nice people) we're getting to know. I know it's going to be a tough decision. Wish we could pick you all. :) There's still time to apply... deadline is November 10th.

Have a fun and creative weekend everyone!
